Bruce Street’s triumph lies in its unwavering dedication to student needs. Collaborating closely with student operator Vita, McAleer & Rushe has meticulously crafted a bespoke living experience. This purpose-built student haven, with its prime location, thoughtful amenities and sustainable design, fills a crucial gap in Belfast’s student housing market. A relentless focus on the end- user, from design and construction through to service delivery, sets Bruce Street apart as a shining example of multiple- occupancy development. The development was delivered to a high-quality standard and on budget within a remarkable 18-month delivery programme, achieved through using innovative construction and supply chain efficiencies. Excellence in Training WINNER: H&J MARTIN

H&J Martin’s significant training plan, meeting the needs of individuals at all levels of progression and encompassing an effective mentoring process, impressed judges. Trading for over 175 years and with a legacy of landmark buildings such as Tower Bridge London, the Grand Opera House and Belfast City Hall, H&J Martin believes its employees are its greatest asset. With a focus on ensuring its company policies and working practices are fair and equitable, the company views diversity in its people and their skills and abilities as a strength. H&J Martin believes that when people are self-determining at work, they have a greater sense of job satisfaction, increasing ownership and motivation. To that end, its Academy was established in 2023 to train employees, provide early career opportunities and commit to delivering on its social values. The Academy focuses on skill development and career growth through mentorship, training, and collaboration. It currently supports over 20 early-career employees, each paired with a mentor to guide their professional development and offer personalised advice and training, accelerating learning and valuable industry insights. An Early Careers Forum facilitates regular meetings between Academy employees and senior management, while an Accelerate Leadership course offers a two-year programme for aspiring managers. Academy apprentices regularly undertake courses across areas such as mental health first aid, green sustainable driver training and social media marketing, with each employee currently undertaking six training days annually.
