Described by judges as a high-class project significantly enhancing the experience of end-users, Riddell Hall Management School secured Education Project of the Year for Felix O’Hare & Co Ltd. The extension adds a new purpose-built teaching facility with lecture theatres, seminar rooms, computer labs, office spaces, cafés and social green spaces. High-quality finishes include board-marked concrete, oak panelling and terrazzo tile detailing, while exterior works feature an extensive sedum green roof, underground parking area, access roads and landscaping. Impressing judges in all aspects, Felix O’Hare has delivered internal and external finishes of a high standard, while blending the new build perfectly into its surroundings. Devastating floods leaving the centre underwater during construction failed to hamper William Rogers Construction’s works programme, with the contractor still managing to complete the project to a high standard, ahead of schedule and within budget. Works to construct a highly-complex, three- storey structure in the internal atrium of an existing care centre,

providing new accommodation and waiting areas for eight GP surgeries, were also carried out in a busy, live environment. Judges declared the project an exemplar example of how an NEC contract should be administered, with a very strong working relationship with the client and multiple stakeholders contributing to the successful delivery of this project.
