Delivering lasting impact safely, sustainably, collaboratively and innovatively - to the highest standards, on budget and to schedule – secured this category win for GRAHAM. Liverpool’s largest residential development completed since 2021, Pall Mall Press transforms Liverpool’s skyline while delivering much-needed build-to-rent housing. The striking 22-storey residential tower totals 336 apartments and is positioned on the periphery of the city’s business district, in an area characterised by a need for regeneration. Strong health and safety performance and innovative construction methods, including off-site fabrication and use of scaffold run-off, were delivered alongside sustainable elements including green roofs for rainwater recycling and solar panels. The tallest residential building delivered to date by McAleer & Rushe, the 37-storey Exchange Square seamlessly blends innovative construction methods with carefully chosen materials to create an exceptional living environment. Prioritising occupant comfort and liveability, the project was completed in February 2024 as the final component of the Exchange Square Masterplan in Birmingham. Featuring retail space, a public square and extensive amenity space including a sky terrace, Exchange Square redefines renting in Birmingham and contributes to the ongoing revitalisation of the city centre. Integral to the project were innovative construction methods such as adjusting the critical path of the concrete frame and precast façade installation works.
