AN IGW ADMIX ENHANCING THE PERFORMANCE OF CONCRETE TO MAKE IT RESISTANT TO THE PASSAGE OF WATER, AND CAVITY DRAIN SYSTEM, WERE SUPPLIED BY VISQUEEN BUILDING PRODUCTS… WATERPROOFING & DAMP PROTECTION

Visqueen Building Products was commissioned by main contractor OHMG to provide guidance on structural waterproofing and damp protection. The main products supplied were the Visqueen IGW Admix system, Cavity Drain System, High Performance DPM and Visqueen Zedex CPT DPC. James Walsh, Technical Support Manager at Visqueen, said, “There was a substantial cast-in-situ concrete retaining wall as part of the project, which was built into the embankment. “The key element here was to comply

protected from water in the ground.” Having recently launched a new additive which enhances the performance of concrete to make it resistant to the passage of water, IGW Admix, Visqueen supplied it to the project. Crystalline based, Visqueen IGW Admix will remain active for the lifetime of the structure. “In addition to this, we also supplied a cavity drain system as a secondary line of protection,” said James. Working closely with OHMG and specialist installer FF Radon Systems, Visqueen provided site-specific detailed drawings, which allowed the system to be installed as per the guidance provided.
