» Trex® 4x4 aluminum post sleeves can be used to fit over a pressure-treated post or Trex® Surface Mount Post Mounts. 4x4 Pressure-treated Post: • Cover 4x4 pressure-treated post with plastic, house wrap, or similar product before installing 4x4 alu- minum post sleeve. • Ensure to use bracket to post screws that are sup- plied with the Trex railing product being used, do not substitute hardware. • Pre-drilling through 4x4 aluminum post sleeve is required for all Trex railing products, with the exception of Trex® Select® Aluminum Railing as this uses a SS self-tapping screw. Trex® Surface Mount Post: • When using Trex® Surface Mount Posts, use bracket to post screws that are supplied with the surface mount posts, do NOT use bracket to post screws that are provided with railing products. See Trex® Surface Mount Post instructions for details.
