"speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." We should be perennially thankful, even in the bad as well as the good (vs. 20). We should always be submis­ sive and never self-assertive. Such should be a mutual thing with a gracious yieldedness of one be­ liever to the other. This must be evidenced in the home, school, office, neighborhood and church. If I wanted to find out what you

are really like I would talk to your husband, wife or children. This crucible will prove our dedication and filling. The passage in Ephesians which follows begins with exhortations to the wife (vrs. 22-24). Here sub­ mission is given heavy emphasis. There is no suggestion that the wife is inferior in any sense at all. This is not the point. It is the ques­ tion of respective positions which God, in His wisdom, has assigned and ordained.
