C heryl Gibbs, Area Sales Manager for Aqualisa in Ireland, admits she was surprised at the speed in which the Northern Irish marketplace has adopted the smart shower, but it’s clear the trend is here to stay and demand continues to grow and grow. “Aqualisa has led the way in smart shower development,” she said, “and our Quartz Smart range is now a key selling product for us. Sales in Northern Ireland for smart showers have seen a significant increase in the first six months of 2022. “We’re also seeing a considerable pick-up in smart and digital showers in the ROI market, and we’re sure that will continue to grow over the coming months, as smart home technology and water-saving devices become more and more popular.” Cheryl sees the increasing number of merchant and high street showrooms installing working smart shower units acting as a huge driver for the smart shower sector. “When customers stand in the showroom and say ‘Alexa, turn on my shower’ and it starts flowing, that is a major wow factor.” As the innovators of the first Digital Shower back in 2001, Aqualisa knows the importance of introducing new bathroom technology that contributes and enhances a customer’s life.
