P&H: How is business at the moment?

suppliers, most of whom value our business and the expertise that my team brings to the table. We have a purchaser in Navan and one in Cavan and this has built supplier confidence. If we make an order, we order in bulk numbers and we are getting better deals. P&H: Where do you hope to see Greenline in the next five years? DB: From day one, I’ve had a vision for Greenline. Even with the hiccups of Covid, the dream is still there, to open two new branches over the next five years. I believe we’ll have to get one into Dublin and then I’d like to head west from Cavan. So if you’re looking at a map of Ireland you’ll see Greenline Plumbing Service merchant branches on a straight line from Dublin to Galway.

DB: During the first quarter of this year, we were up 32% on last year. The second quarter hasn’t been filed yet, but it promises to be up by another 30% on top of last year as well. So we’re keeping a steady rise this year, so far. P&H: What are the biggest current challenges, and how are you responding to them? DB: I think the biggest challenge is supply, due to Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine. To ensure we keep ahead of the game we have increased our stock holding from €700,000 to €2m. Although this has required more investment from us, it has brought new business to our door. We’re working hard to build and maintain relationships with our
