TINY’S MIGHTY TREK BEATS FUNDRAISING TARGET

Plumbmaster Bangor Manager, John Weatherill, put his best foot forward to complete the final leg of his an epic 864-mile trek to raise over £2,160 for the Inspire Wellbeing charity. The Portavogie man, known to his family and friends as Tiny, completed the full distance of travelling from Lands End to John O’Groats in 90 days. Most of the challenge was completed virtually, at home on his treadmill, but the ‘Last Leg,’ 62 miles, from Haldane Fisher, Newry to Haldane Fisher, Enniskillen was completed on foot in 24 hours. Speaking to Ireland’s Heating & Plumbing Magazine before setting off on the fundraiser, Tiny said he felt inspired by his own father who enjoyed walking and completed the Lands End to John O’Groats trek. Having lost over 10 stone in weight through walking, Tiny decided to pay homage to the weight-loss by carrying extra weight during the finishing leg. Inspire Wellbeing (Addiction NI) is Plumbmaster’s Charity of the Year for 2022. Tiny had hoped to raise £2,000 with his fundraiser, but donations from work colleagues and Plumbmaster customers have surpassed that amount. You can still make donations at any Plumbmaster branch throughout Northern Ireland or online at: https://justgiving.com/fundraising/tinytreadmill
