in the amount of $106,162,353; the retention and/or creation of 1,003 jobs; and an increase in membership funds collected of 27%. New industry projects during FY 12/13 included As- tralloy Steel Products, Davis Alloys, Precision Castparts Corp., Levey & Co./Kohl’s, RJR Alloys, Noise Solutions & Pen- nex Aluminum. Local industry projects included GE Trans- portation, Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine, Sharon Fence, Zero Error Racing, Northeast Industrial Manufacturing, Wendell August Forge, Com- munity Counseling, Sunbelt Transformer and Advanced Fiberglass Services. All of the above named companies were honored with Economic Impact Awards at Penn-Northwest’s annual meeting. Penn-Northwest has contin- ued to develop its marketing campaign which introduces

Mercer County as a low cost alternative for corporate expan- sion and developed the “Make it in! Mercer County, Pennsyl- vania” brand. As PNDC reaches out to prospective companies looking to grow, expand or start a business, we communicate the message that if companies like General Electric and Joy Cone choose to “Make it in! Mercer County,” they can, too. Penn-Northwest is seeing results from the marketing campaign and its new approach to economic development. At a recent board meeting, staff re- ported that over 500 leads have been generated, resulting in 50 proposals and 6 site visits.
