King's Business - 1920-09

THE KING' S BUSINESS vants that waited upon him, and at the lovely pathway leading up to the temple which King Solomon had built for God’s house. She was so filled with wonder at all the grand things she saw she could hardly tell it. She told King Solomon that when she heard about him and his great wis dom when she was in her own land far away, she could not believe it could be true, but now that she had seen with her own eyes, she said it was more wonderful than had been told her. She saw how happy all the peo ple about King Solomon looked, and how much happier the queen was now that King Solomon had answered her hard questions and explained her trou bles, but best of all, Solomon had told her of the true God. Then the queen gave to Solomon presents of gold and spices and precious stones worth lots of money, and King Solomon gave the queen costly presents also. When the wonderful visit was over the camels were brought, the servants made ready for the long journey across the sands, and she and her servants went back to their own land. While Solomon had given her the beautiful presents, yet

873 he gave her something far more prec ious than gold, when he told her about the true God, and now, we love to think of the queen going back to her own country and her people and telling them of her visit, and then of the true God of whom King Solomon had told her. If the people believed her words and trusted in God, we will meet some of them up in heaven and we can tell them about the lovely time we had hearing the story of her visit to King Solomon. Our memory verse says wis dom is better than rubies. Rubies are precious stones that are worth a great deal of money. Now we know about the true God and we know Jesus His Son, and we can be wise and do like King Solomon and tell other boys and girls and people about Jesus and that He loves them and died to save them. And children, you know we can talk with God, who gave Solomon his great wisdom, for when we pray we can ask Him to help us so we will know how to please Him in all we do. Closing Prayer. Our dear Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for the Bible that helps us to live right, which is better than having gold or silver.

(33) Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. (34) Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top mast of a mast. (35) They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have;beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

(19) Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way. (20) Be not among winebibbers; among riot ous eaters of flesh: (21) For the drunk ard and the glutton shall come to pov erty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. (29) Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? (30.)
