“ The Most Helpless of All Gospols”— so the belief in the second coming of Christ is branded by Professor Shirley Jackson Case of Chicago University in his tract, “ The Premillennial Menace,” which that institution has for some months been seeking to circulate throughout the churches of the United States. In this ranting article against the doctrine of our Lord’s coming, the writer seeks to make up for what he lacks in Scripture support (for he no where makes the slightest reference to Scripture, either to disprove the teach ing of the Lord’s coming or to support his own theory that the world is to “ work out its own salvation” ) by the
most abusive epithets applied to those who hold to “ the blessed hope.” (Titus 2:13.)
