The current 71-year-old terminal needed numerous techno- logical advances, contemporary amenities and had reached its limits to serve the community. The new replacement ter- minal offers an airy lobby, baggage claims/screening, TSA security checkpoints, passenger queuing areas, concessions, car rentals, offices and tenant spaces. The design and materials reflect Williamsport’s signature history of its logging industry and blue tiled flooring repre- sents the Susquehanna River. The pallet is limited to high performance glass and stone. An exposed steel super-struc- ture allowing controlled natural light to bathe the interiors while a clearstory saw-tooth roof provides an ever-changing rhythm of multi-height spaces.
For more than 160 years, the Fulton Theatre (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) has been a home for the performing arts in Lancaster PA. This renovation and expansion project, titled the “Breakout Performance” cam- paign, will provide additional actor housing, improved and expanded rehearsal space, a larger backstage, and additional restrooms and event space and will be completed in phases. By making strategic and critical changes to the building, the Fulton Theatre will be able to stage productions on a national scale comparable to the most sophisticated theatre producers in the nation.
The 32,000 s/f facility now houses the multiple facets of the non-profit, UDS, that were previous spread between multiple buildings and offices. Renovations to the existing building will allow for expansion of programs, increase staff and cli- ent collaboration, and ensure sustainability for the organiza- tion. UDS is a non-profit organization providing care to the aging, veterans and people with disabilities for a safer, more independent life in their own homes. There is now dedicated service dog training space which can triple the amount of placements annually, and allow for 20% more custom wheel- chair fittings and 20% more home modifications.
