The Rose Route The Rose Route is a classic tour through Hildesheim. From the historic Market Square, the path leads to Hildesheim’s historically signi- ficant buildings and monuments as well as the World Heritage churches. This includes the namesake of the tour: the Thousand-year Rose. The Welterbeband (World Heritage Line) takes you from the historic Market Square to the two UNESCO World Herita- ge churches, St Mary’s Cathedral and St Michael’s. Illuminated at night, the path invites you on an evening stroll through the city to these Romanesque church

CITY TOURS IN THE HILDESHEIM APP

In addition to many useful functions such as the bus timetable or tickets for Hildesheim sports teams, the Hildes- heim App (hiApp) also offers several city tours. This allows you to explore not only the Rose Route and its extensions with your mobile phone, but also various parts of the city and their special features off the beaten track. Discover, for example, the colourful street art district in the Nordstadt or the winding alleys, cosy cafés and restaurants of the Moritzberg district. IT'S THAT EASY 1. The baroque Magdalenengar- ten (Magdalena Gardens) with its fragrant roses, fruit trees, bee colonies and even a small vineyard is an oasis of peace and tranquillity open to visitors year-round.

Through the quaint alleys of the half-timbered Godehard quarter the path leads to one of the most beautiful medieval churches in the city: St Godehard.

Keßlerstraße and Kehrwiederwall serve as the gateway to the city’s green spaces. On the ramparts of the old fortifications, you have an amazing view of the half-tim- bered district and the Kehrwiederturm – the last remaining
