Have you ever walked through a park and seen a plastic bottle or wrapper lying on the ground? If so, did you pick it up and properly dispose of it? You might not have realized it, but in that moment, you took a small step toward keeping your community — and, by extension, America — beautiful! April is Keep America Beautiful Month, and folks who celebrate aim to help each community in every state stay clean and green. Created by the nonprofit organization Keep America Beautiful, this holiday offers a perfect opportunity to roll up your sleeves and work to better the place you live in. Here are three ways to show your appreciation for a green America this month.
Day Network is providing digital events for everyone around the world to take part in. Follow Earth Day Network’s social media accounts and stay updated on efforts to keep the Earth green or participate in an event yourself! For more information, visit EarthDay.org.
Start plogging.
If you’re passionate about staying active and cleaning up your neighborhood, then this is the perfect activity for you! Plogging combines jogging and picking up litter, which takes care of your health and keeps your community clean. Anybody can do it: Just throw on your running shoes, grab a bag, head out the door, and pick up any stray bits of trash you see on your morning jog or evening walk.
Take action online.
At work, for example, you can volunteer to lead a recycling initiative by printing off guides and fostering discussions on why recycling is so essential. At home, you can make a commitment with your family to fulfill the three R’s of recycling: reduce, reuse, recycle.
Improve recycling through education.
With the current COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world, it might be difficult to get outside and participate in community cleanup programs. But that doesn’t mean the public can’t participate in Keep America Beautiful Month. April 22 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, and to celebrate, Earth
An important goal during Keep America Beautiful Month is to spread awareness about recycling. There are various ways to educate those around you about recycling and encourage them to do their part.

FSTN in the Community Say No to Distracted Driving
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and we are doing our best to take a stand, and you can too!
cell phone use while driving has increased by 1,500% since 2005, and it accounts for a whopping 27% of all car crashes in the U.S. today.
How? It’s simple! First, don’t pick up that phone. Texts and calls can wait when someone’s life is on the line. According to data from the National Safety Council,
Do your part to make Indiana and Illinois roads safer by taking the Drop the Distraction Pledge. Every person who pledges to put down their phone while driving will be entered for a chance to win one of several hands-free phone mounts/chargers for their vehicle so they can keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road. To take the pledge, simply submit your name and email using the form on our website. Just go to FleschnerLaw.com and click on the Drop the Distraction link. A valid address is required to be eligible to receive a hands-free phone mount. Together, we can work to put an end to distracted driving. It’s such an easy thing to do. Just don’t touch your phone while driving. And distracted driving isn’t limited to phone use. Use of just about anything that takes your attention off the road counts as distracted driving — including eating, putting on makeup, reading, or watching Netflix. It’s never worth risking your life or the lives of others on the road.

Our Clients Say It Best
Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Josh Cronkhite! Josh has been a valued employee with our office for six and a half years.
As a training administrator, Josh basically helps spread education throughout the land. Whether he’s providing job training, Social Security and disability training, or teaching others how to set up computers, he is there to help everyone.
His favorite thing about working at FSTN is getting the chance to know
people in all departments of the firm, and when you’re our resident training specialist, you do indeed get to know everyone!
“Great customer service. My sister told me about them. They helped her with great success. They have been great helping me. They answer all my calls. They call me when they have questions.” –Helen D. “I used this law firm for my disability case from the beginning. I was about to be homeless due to no income coming in. They got my case expedited and I won! It took me a little over a year to win my disability case. I highly recommend this law firm to be used for representation!” –Brittany L. We Handle Case Types Did You Know We Handle All of These Types of Cases?
One person who voted for Josh had this to say: “Josh has been a big help this month, with all of the moving and rearranging that has taken place in the Duke Building.”Of course, this only scratched the surface of just how big an impact Josh makes each and every month!
