Have you ever walked through a park and seen a plastic bottle or wrapper lying on the ground? If so, did you pick it up and properly dispose of it? You might not have realized it, but in that moment, you took a small step toward keeping your community — and, by extension, America — beautiful! FSTN in the Community Say No to Distracted Driving
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and we are doing our best to take a stand, and you can too!
cell phone use while driving has increased by 1,500% since 2005, and it accounts for a whopping 27% of all car crashes in the U.S. today.
How? It’s simple! First, don’t pick up that phone. Texts and calls can wait when someone’s life is on the line. According to data from the National Safety Council,
Do your part to make Indiana and Illinois roads safer by taking the Drop the Distraction Pledge. Every person who pledges to put down their phone while driving will be entered for a chance to win one of several hands-free phone mounts/chargers for their vehicle so they can keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road. To take the pledge, simply submit your name and email using the form on our website. Just go to FleschnerLaw.com and click on the Drop the Distraction link. A valid address is required to be eligible to receive a hands-free phone mount. Together, we can work to put an end to distracted driving. It’s such an easy thing to do. Just don’t touch your phone while driving. And distracted driving isn’t limited to phone use. Use of just about anything that takes your attention off the road counts as distracted driving — including eating, putting on makeup, reading, or watching Netflix. It’s never worth risking your life or the lives of others on the road.
