Research Track - While visibility and service to one's field are not required for appointment or advancement in the research non-tenure track, the Department of Pathology recognizes these activities as indications of a successful, productive research scientist and also recognizes that these activities require significant effort in addition to that directed to one's own research program. Tenure - The Department of Pathology expects that individuals applying for Tenure show evidence of significant visibility in their field and ongoing service to the community of science according to the criteria summarized in the lists and table above. Ill. Service to the Department and College of Medicine [Service to the institution includes participation on the various committees that are necessary to fulfill the various missions of the Department of Pathology and the College of Medicine. These activities are not required for faculty on the non-tenure research track. Nonetheless, these individuals may be asked to serve on Department or College committees. In such cases, the Department RPT committee and Department Chair will recognize the time contributed to these activities when considering reappointment or promotion in the non-tenure track.]
