Moda - ESG 2024 Report

REDUCING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT NEXT GENERATION SPACES

NET ZERO ROADMAP — DEVELOPMENTS

“As a pioneer of technology and positive change across the rental landscape, Moda continues to look beyond a one-size fits-all approach by truly understanding the needs and diversity of our residents and communities. This, combined with our focus on sustainability, allows us to tailor our spaces to help people to live better lives.”

During our carbon modelling exercise, we found that a reduction in operational and embodied carbon will be critical for us to achieve a low-carbon future. Embodied carbon emissions make up 88% of our carbon footprint and therefore setting ambitious targets for our new developments will provide us with the greatest opportunities to meet our goals. To effectively do this, we have come up with a series of targets and actions to reduce our emissions over the next 60 years. We have set our targets based on the performance and potential improvements from our existing buildings, industry guidance such as The London Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI), the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), as well as modelling within our roadmap. To make our Carbon Strategy a success, it’s crucial that everyone within the business plays their part and considers our carbon impact during design, construction and operation.
