A QUICK LIFE UPDATE
Hey, it’s Kelly Moss here, one of the dental hygienists in the office — and here’s what I’ve been up to!
If you caught the last office newsletter, you probably saw the photo of my husband and me showing off our newest (and tiniest) team member — baby Lana! She was born on June 7, 2024, and I swear I blinked and now I’m planning her first birthday party. Everyone warned me how fast time flies, but wow … you don’t really get it until you’re knee-deep in diapers and suddenly searching the internet for mermaid-themed first birthday party ideas. Motherhood has been a whirlwind, but honestly, balancing work and mom life has been a lot easier than I thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong — there are definitely some sleepless nights (I’ve told Dr. Menon more than once that you don’t realize how little sleep a human actually needs until you’ve had a baby), but overall, it’s been smoother than I expected. Having a great support system at home has made all the difference. My husband is staying home with Lana right now, and knowing she’s safe and cared for while I’m at work puts my mind completely at ease. It also helps that coming into the office and doing something I love gives me a chance to reset and miss her — it’s such a gift. When I walk through the door at the end of the day and see her whole face light up, there’s nothing better. I find happiness in both roles and appreciate the time I get in each space. I returned to work on Jan. 2, and those first few days were a bit of an emotional roller coaster. I was excited to get back to a routine and see all my work friends, but I also felt that mom guilt creeping in, like I was missing out on all of Lana’s “firsts.” But I’ve realized it’s okay. She knows I’m coming home, and I get to soak in every second we do have together.
perfect (what is?), but we’re making it work. Lana’s a silly girl. She has a big personality and is learning quickly. She’s already trying to walk — she’ll stand for a few seconds, wobble a bit, then plop right down on her diapered butt. I think those first steps are just around the corner. This summer, Lana will be experiencing her first of many fishing trips out on the water, as my husband and I are avid fishermen. We’re also preparing for her very first vacation this August. Florida, here we come! It’ll be her first plane ride, and yes, I’m slightly terrified. But I’ve heard babies are usually great on flights (fingers crossed), and if all else fails, I’ve got Miss Rachel queued up and ready to go. It’s a quick flight, so we’ll just roll with it and hope for the best.
By the time you read this, her birthday party will have just happened. I already know it’ll be a mix of emotions — I can’t believe my baby girl is a year old!
Thanks for catching up with me — it’s been such a sweet part of life. Balancing it all isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely been beautiful. Until next time!

Your Guide to Restoring Your Smile DENTURES VS. IMPLANTS EXPLAINED
If you’ve had dental complications or lost a tooth (or several), you’re definitely not alone — and you’ve probably heard about dentures and dental implants as options to restore your smile. But what’s the difference, and how do you know which one might be a better fit for you? Let’s break it down. DENTURES — TRIED AND TRUE Dentures have been around for a long time. While they’ve come a long way in terms of comfort and appearance, the basic idea is still the same. They’re removable appliances designed to replace missing teeth — either a full set (complete dentures) or just a few teeth (partial dentures). They rest on your gums and are usually made of acrylic or resin materials. Some dentures are held in place with adhesive, while others might hook onto remaining teeth. They’re more affordable upfront and don’t require surgery, which can make them a great option for some people.
That said, dentures can sometimes feel bulky, take some getting used to, and may need to be replaced or adjusted over time as your mouth changes.
DENTAL IMPLANTS — A LONG-TERM INVESTMENT
As another option, dental implants are a more modern and permanent solution. They involve placing a titanium post into your jawbone, which acts like a root. A crown is then attached to the top to replace the missing tooth. Implants look and feel just like natural teeth, and you don’t have to remove them at night. They’re durable and can last decades with good care. Because they’re anchored in your jawbone, they also help preserve bone health and prevent that “sunken” look that can happen when teeth are missing for a long time.
than dentures upfront, but many people see them as a worthwhile long-term investment.
THE CHOICE This will depend on your needs, budget, and comfort level. Dentures are great for a quick fix or if surgery isn’t an option. Implants are ideal if you’re looking for something more permanent and natural-feeling. We can help you figure out what’s best for your smile and lifestyle, so don’t be afraid to ask questions! We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment!
However, implants do require surgery, they take time to heal, and they tend to be more expensive

It’s about designing a space that feels like a warm hug from the past, where every bloom tells a story, and every corner holds a special place in your heart. Bold Colors and Textures Dare to go big and bright this year with plants that feature bold colors and unique textures or shapes. Look for non-conventional local plants to blend different leaf shapes and sizes to create a dynamic landscape. Don’t be afraid to highlight flowers in big bursts of reds, purples, and blues to bring a buzz of energy to your home. BUDGET BRILLIANCE FROM A BYGONE ERA Retro Habits Make Modern Life (and Prices) Easier
REINVENT YOUR LEFTOVERS. Gone are the days of letting food wilt in the fridge. Old-school frugal folks gave every last bite a second act. Roast chicken becomes broth. Rice gets turned into stir-fry. Stale bread transforms into French toast or bread pudding. Get creative! You’ll waste less and eat better.
In a world where you can have anything delivered in a day, it’s easy to forget that less can be more. But our grandparents and great-grandparents knew the art of stretching a dollar. These timeless frugal habits aren’t just budget- friendly; they’re resourceful and surprisingly satisfying. Ready to channel your inner penny-pincher? Let’s bring these throwback habits back to life.
MEND IT, DON’T END IT. Once upon a time, people didn’t just toss a sock with a hole. Instead, you sewed it right back up! No need to rush to the store — just a few basic mending skills can save you from countless unnecessary purchases. It’s also more empowering to fix something with your own hands than tossing it — not to mention much more eco-friendly.
CHOOSE CASH OVER CARD. There’s something about handing over $20 cash that makes you think twice before spending it. Cash budgeting may feel outdated, but it’s one of the simplest ways to curb impulse buys. Envelopes marked for groceries, gas, or coffee dates give you a clear snapshot of your spending — and what’s left. No more senseless swiping!
MASTER THE MAGIC OF HOMEMADE MEALS. Fast food might be convenient, but cooking from scratch is where the real savings (and flavor) happen. Think soups from veggie scraps and hearty meals made from simple pantry staples. Not only does it cut costs, but it puts you in control of your ingredients and nutrition — a win-win.
SAVE WITH SECONDHAND SAVVY. Hand-me-downs were once a household norm! Today, thrift stores and vintage finds are trending again, and for good reason. Whether it’s clothing, furniture, or kitchenware, buying secondhand is kinder to your wallet and the planet.
So, channel some old-school genius and start living a frugal, intentional lifestyle!
