A long-time favorite attraction for adrenaline junkies
and fun lovers alike is Six Flags Over Texas , a few short miles away in Arlington. If you intend to visit the park, be sure to stay over on Saturday and Sunday. The Six Flags hours of operation are limited to weekends only the week of Labor Day. Look into online discount tickets and even getting a Flash Pass and save time by
reducing your wait in line. The Fort Worth Zoo can be a great day trip. The operating hours in September are 10am – 5pm daily, so plenty of time to feed the rays, watch the hippos, spy on the bats and laugh at the otters. Also not to miss is the Andean condor, endangered and one of the largest birds of prey. Its wingspan can reach a breathtaking 10 feet. Or take a close look at an iconic native, the Texas horned lizard. Book your extra nights and schedule your flight accordingly.
