My Dear Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.: There is a wave of emotions and excitement here in the State of Florida as we anticipate your arrival here in July for the 83 rd Grand Chapter Meeting.
On behalf of all the brothers of the Winter Park Alumni Chapter, the local planning committee, all Kappa men in the Southern Province, and The State of Florida, I welcome you to Orlando for the 83 rd Grand Chapter Meeting. As you converge on Orlando to take care of the important business of the fraternity and continue our legacy of Achievement, we are excited that our very own 33 rd Grand Polemarch, Thomas L. Battles, Jr., is leading Kappa Alpha Psi into the future. As a son of the Southern Province, we are happy to welcome him home to “The Sunshine State” to preside over our 2017 Conclave. As brothers, families and friends arrive in Orlando, we know that you will arrive anticipating all of the wonderful activities we have planned for you. As one of the premier travel destinations in the world, “The City Beautiful” and the brothers of the Winter Park Alumni Chapter and Orlando Alumni Chapter stand poised to greet you with open arms and extend some good old fashioned southern hospitality. Our undergraduates at the University of Central Florida, the Lambda Omega Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. are also preparing to host our young conventioneers. With the efforts we are making as a local planning committee, I am very confident that your Conclave experience will be the best you’ve ever had. From the world class restaurants and popular family attractions to PGA rated golf courses and entertainment venues, Central Florida will be the perfect destination for you to enjoy some time away to relax and revitalize.
