Kappa Alpha Psi Week | July 18–22, 2017
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Park recognizes the important contributions that Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and its Orlando and Winter Park Alumni chapters provide to the social, cultural and economic development of our community; and WHEREAS, it has been recognized that since 1947, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity has served children, families and disadvantaged citizens through its voluntary public services, youth guidance, and mentorship programs, and provision of college scholarships, resulting in a highly-positive effect on the quality of life for Orange County residents; and WHEREAS, Winter Park acknowledges the theme “ Leave a Legacy...Build a Future " for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity’s 83 rd Grand Chapter Meeting and Conclave, Tuesday, July 18, through Saturday, July 22, 2017; and WHEREAS, Winter Park recognizes and shows appreciation to all members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and encourages a continued commitment to serving the needs of Winter Park citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, I Steve Leary, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Winter Park, in the state of Florida, do hereby proclaim the week of Saturday, July 15 through Saturday, July 22, 2017, to be Kappa Alpha Psi Week in Winter Park, Florida.
