members. The planning team and I have a simple motto, “...better than the last, but never better than the next.” KJ: With respect to the downtime, we are in a city where brothers are encouraged to bring their families and enjoy all the attractions the Orlando/ Winter Park area has to offer. We are planning a great week of activities that we know brothers and their families will enjoy on a property (Shingle Creek) Journal: What role is technology playing in both the planning as well as execution of national meetings? KJ: It plays a huge role. In the meet- ing planning industry, our technology plan is second to none. Many other organizations have modeled their plans

based on ours. We spend a tremendous amount of time to create an environment where an unforgettable experience is provided. There are countless meetings, discussions, rehearsals and adjustments that must be made between our planning team, the production team, and the ad- ministrative team. It is a long and tedious process, but well worth the effort, when our event is one that is benchmarked by other organizations, associations and corporations.

Founded in 1983, the NCBMP is a non- profit organization dedicated primarily to the training needs of African American meeting planners. For more information visit www.ncbmp.com.
