Why choose a Rigid Rail System instead? In many cases, Horizontal Lifeline Systems may not be effective. They often require more clearance than is available, and theyalways require substantial structural anchorages tosupport theend-loads.TheAluminumRail Fall Arrest Systemdoesnot substan- tiallydeflect under dynamic fall arrest loading, so the requiredclearances areconsiderably reduced. Additionally, due to the strengthand rigidityof the rail segments, the dynamic loads that are transmitted to the structural anchorages are considerably less severe.When used in conjunction with our SkyLoc™ II SRL’s, arrest distances are less than 24”. Rigid Rail Systems are nothing new. Traditionally they been constructed of steel, and the‘track’which contains the traversable trolley requires a com- plicated truss system to support it and give it strength. The AluminumRail Fall Arrest Systemwas designed to simplify this solution tomake it more affordable and to reduce the cost and complication involvedwith the installation of these types of systems.

TheRail Extruded froma rugged, durable aluminumalloy, the standard 5 meter (16’) rail segment requires no intermediate support, and can cantilever up to 5’. The Splice Extruded fromthe same dependable alloy, the splice simply slides over the top of two adjacent segments and joins themtogether by through the tightening of 8 simple fasteners. TheHangers Constructed fromthe samematerial asThe Rail andThe Splice, The Hangers are installed on top of the rail segment at or adjacent to each end at each splice location. All that is required is a simple twist of the wrist and the tightening of two set screws. TheAdapter Brackets Connects the ARFAS to the overhead structure at each required hang- er location. Available in a variety of configurations to accommodate a wide array of structures.
