AICC To Host Three Hazmat Webinars for Packaging Manufacturers AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, is pleased to announce a series of free webinars aimed at providing valuable insights and information on hazardous materials (hazmat) for packaging manufacturers. The webinars will cover critical topics related to Hazardous Material Regula- tions (HMR) in the United States. The instructor is Lonnie Jaycox, an independent pack- aging engineer, consultant, and trainer in the implementa- tion of compliance systems and packaging programs for regulated materials including hazardous materials. Jaycox has spent more than 30 years designing, testing, manu- facturing, and implementing packaging programs for the transportation of hazardous materials. He is active in in- dustry and related organizations including AICC. The webinar topics are set for the following dates: Hazardous Materials General & Security Awareness, February 6, 2024: This webinar offers a comprehensive overview of Hazardous Material Regulations, focusing on general and security awareness. It aims to familiarize hazmat employees with the structure and concepts of the HMR, meeting specific regulatory requirements. Partici- pants will gain a deeper understanding of their responsi- bilities under the HMR, helping to prevent mistakes that could lead to violations.

Hazardous Materials: Marking and Labeling | Febru- ary 7, 2024 : This webinar delves into the requirements outlined in 49 CFR Subparts D (Marking) and E (Labeling) of Part 172, as applicable to boxmakers. Participants will gain insights into the specific marking and labeling regula- tions relevant to their operations and the marks and labels they print on behalf of their customers in the packaging manufacturing industry. Boxmaker: 4G Boxes and the HMR | February 8, 2024: The final webinar in the series provides a detailed analysis of the requirements of 49 CFR Subparts L and M of Part 178 as applicable to box converters. It specifically addresses the roles and responsibilities of boxmakers that perform regulated functions on behalf of their customers. These webinars are designed to equip packaging manu- facturers with the knowledge and understanding neces- sary to navigate and comply with hazardous material reg- ulations effectively.
