4. Enhancements. Capital projects that elevate, improve or add to the existing material condition of ANCC equipment or infrastructure for the ultimate purpose of expanding and improving available ANCC operations and membership services. 5. Leases. These are must fund requirements and include the Toro lease for Golf course maintenance, golf carts, Fitness Equipment and administrative requirements for copiers, and other administrative equipment. 6. Other. This includes the GM/COO contingency and a FY 2025 request to do a much needed renovation of the Employee cafeteria. The FY 2025 Capital Requirements for both campuses are broken down by category: Material Requirement $ 924,110 Facilities Requirement $ 579,179 Strategic Plan Requirement $ 53,285 Enhancement $ 761,438 Leases $ 820,492 Other $ 261,496 Grand Total $ 3,400,000 There was also $898K in FY 2024 projects where the funds are allocated but the work is pending this year. The Director of Facilities, Dave Dawson, and the staff continue to aggressively work both years’ projects to completion. It’s been an honor to serve as the Planning Committee Chairman this past year. I’d like to thank CAPT Mary Ann Cronin, Mr. David Cross, MAJ Donald Fredericks, CDR Tom Gwilliam, CAPT Joker Jenkins, LTC Charlie Pelham, COL Joe Simonelli, Lt Col Justin Swick, and Ms. Bev Winston for serving on the committee. I’d also like to thank Col David Bennett, Mr. Robert Cavanaugh, CAPT Jennifer Lednicky, Mr. James Meggesto, and Mr. John Tuck, III who liaison to Planning from other committees and do a wonderful job of keeping the lines of communications open. Finally, I’d like to thank Dave Dawson, the Director of Facilities, who does an incredible job of keeping our facilities in working order.
GOLF & GREEN COMMITTEE
LCDR CHRISTOPHER IRONROAD, USNR, CHAIR We are pleased to report that Army Navy golfers continue to enjoy superb playing conditions at both of our campuses. We are grateful for the diligence and hard work that our superintendents, Mike King (Arlington) and Joe Betcher (Fairfax), and their teams put forth each day in preparing the courses for member play. We are also grateful for our golf operations staff, led by PGA Director of Golf, Brad Myers, and the countless hours they put in from sunup to sundown to help maintain good order at one of the busiest country Clubs in the nation. As a committee, we leverage the expert advice of our professional staff and consultants (McMahon Group and Club Benchmarking) in each decision that we make. In 2023, we saw more than a 10% increase in rounds played compared to the previous year, totaling 114,448 (67,777 at Arlington and 46,671 at Fairfax). Through June of this calendar year,
