Annual Meeting Agenda 2024

Annual Report of the Chair, Board of Governors And the General and Special Committees 2024

Planning : Our vision for the future of Fitness and Wellness centers around a facility we affectionately call the “Joint Performance Center”—a versatile space designed to serve all ANCC communities. In addition to a state-of-the-art fitness area, this center would feature amenities like golf simulators, a rock-climbing wall, indoor tennis, a batting cage, a café, chiropractic care, stretch labs, cold plunges, and childcare space. Additionally, we’ve proposed a golf-focused fitness facility at Fairfax, with specialized golf training equipment and space alongside standard fitness services. These new facilities would become vibrant hubs, elevating the ANCC experience with premium fitness and wellness options for all members. We're incredibly excited about what the future holds and remain committed to making ANCC the premier destination for your fitness and wellness journey. Thank you once again for your continued support.

JUNIOR ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE

CAPT EVA S. DOMOTORFFY, NC, USN, RET., CHAIR Junior Activities encompasses the programs for our youngest generation of members. The Club’s junior population continues to grow annually and stands at approximately 1,267 resident family members between three and thirteen years of age and an additional 569 adolescents aged fourteen to seventeen. The Junior Activities team collaborates with other committees and designated staff to develop quality, age-appropriate recreational, educational, and social programs. Special acknowledgement and thanks goes to Ms. Sheila Chandler (Junior Activities Manager), as well as Ms. Wendy Wilson (Assistant General Manager for Aquatics), Mr. Jimmy Kowalski (Director of Junior Golf Programs) and Mr. Greg Paukstis (Director of Junior Tennis Programs) for their leadership, expertise, and dedication to their respective areas of operation. Aquatics, Golf and Tennis offered individual and group lessons, competitive team opportunities and social outlets for athletes of all ages and abilities. The swim and dive teams maximized their rosters to include significant numbers of junior-team and first-time participants. The Club successfully hosted two regional competitions - Duckies and Donuts junior meet and the highly acclaimed 2024 CCSDA Championships, which culminated in a resounding victory for the ANCC team! Daily swimming lessons, provided by hand-selected instructors, were widely accessible atboth Arlington and Fairfax pools. Golf and Tennis programs increased in size and scope again this year with greater team capacities, increased instructional opportunities up to seven days per week, and special events such as parent-child tournaments, team preparation for aspiring school players, and “Friday Night Lights’ round-robin play. Summer camp at the Arlington campus was at capacity throughout the 6 weeks of operations. Campers received pickleball, golf and swimming instruction in addition to enjoying arts, crafts and board games while making new friends. The carefully vetted counselor staff, many of whom are Club members and former campers, provided a safe and high-energy environment for the school-aged participants. Children three years and older had the opportunity to visit Rainbow City, the children’s activity center, for up to three hours daily for supervised play and games during the fall, spring, and summer months while their parents enjoyed Club activities. Rainbow City added a monthly Tiny Tots program this winter and spring, where toddlers and their caregivers were invited to play and socialize. The surrounding outdoor play space was renovated in the spring and a parking spot for 10-minute Rainbow City drop-off and pick-up was designated near the building entrance for caregiver ease and convenience. Child supervision was available during select adult events
