IN MEMORY OF SANDRA WARREN
Sandra Antoinette Freewoman Warren, aged 76, passed away on August 24, 2024, in Riverton, NJ, after battling AML leukemia. Born on June 9, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Antoinette (nee O’Brien) of St. Augustine, Florida, and Wallestein “Doc” Warren of Rule, Texas, Sandy lived a vibrant life. Graduating from Hot Springs High School in 1966, she ventured from Houston to Colorado in 1974, where her passion for democratic politics blossomed, contributing to Pat Schroeder’s historic win as Colorado’s first female representative. She began her career in the energy industry, eventually settling in New Orleans, where she survived a
remarkable car crash, solidifying her legendary status. Sandy’s career spanned diverse roles in companies like Texaco and Rockcliff Energy, evolving alongside the energy sector. Her zest for life, love of storytelling, and compassion touched many, leaving a lasting legacy of inclusivity and kindness. Survived by her daughters and cherished companion Brother, Sandy’s life will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to ASPCA, cat rescue, or women’s health organizations are encouraged, reflecting Sandy’s passions. Her absence leaves a void, but her love and positivity continue to brighten the world, inspiring those who knew her.
IN MEMORY OF MARK GRESHAM January 18, 1949-August 2, 2024
Mark, a beloved husband, father and friend, passed away on August 2, 2024 at the age of 75 in Sugar Land, Texas. Mark was a graduate of the University of Texas. Mark was owner of Gresham Royalties and was a longtime member, sponsor, and advertiser to both HADOA and NADOA. He was also a member of HAPL and AAPL. Mark was both a CDOA and CPL. Mark served on the HADOA Board and was President in 2005. Mark was very supportive of HADOA and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with members. One of my fondest memories of Mark when we served on the HADOA board was his desire to educate the members. Mark organized a field trip to the Wharton County
G rowth T hrough E ducat i on - J uly / A ugus t / S ept ember 2024 Courthouse so the members could actually see how the records were organized and how to search and find records needed to cure title. He also organized a trip to a drilling rig where we were able to take a tour of the rig and see all the operations at the rig sight. Mark will be greatly missed. Betty Davidson, CDOA 37
