The Names of God (continued) transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.” How lovely are these words. The Lord Jesus ever lives to make inter cession for us (Hebrews 7:25). “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; TWÀS A SHEEP NOT A LAMB 'Twas a sheep not a lamb that went astray In the parable Jesus told. 'Twas a grown-up sheep that wan dered away From the ninety and nine in the fold And out on the hilltops and out in the cold 'Twas a sheep that the Good Shepherd sought. And back to the flock and back to the fold, 'Twas a sheep the Good Shepherd brought. Now, why should the sheep be so carefully fed And cared for still today? Because there's danger if they go wrong, They'll lead the lambs astray. The lambs will follow the sheep you know Wherever they wander, wherever they go lf the sheep go wrong it will not be long 'Til the lambs are as wrong as they. So, still with the sheep we must ear nestly plead For the sake of the lambs today. If the lambs are lost what a terrible cost Some sheep will have to pay. great in thy faithfulness” (Lamenta tions 3:23, 24). So, beloved, whatever the trouble is in your life, give it over to the Lord Jesus Christ and let Him chatige the night into day, giving you peace and rest in your heart. God grant that you will.

The best thing about the future is that it comes just one day at a time. * * * A PRAYER FOR 1964 God holds the key of all the unknown, And I am glad, If other hands should hold the key, Or if He trusted it to me, I might be sad. The very dimness of my sight Makes me secure. For groping in my misty way, I feel His hand; I hear Him say, "M y help is sure." I cannot read His future plans. But this I know I have the smiling of His face, And all the refuge of His grace, While here below. Enough; this covers all my wants, And so I rest. For, what I cannot, He can see, And, in His care I safe shall be, Forever blest: — David E. Roberts A person will never get dizzy by doing a good turn. * * * THE BLESSED HOPE There's a trembling in my heart As I watch the year depart; There's a glory and a light, And a hope that grows more bright. Before this coming year has gone, Some wistful dusk, some misty dawn Or burning noon, my Lord may come For all of us, and take us Home! O, I've read about my Lord In the pages of His Word, And I've learned about His ways As He ordered all my days: I have leaned upon His arm As He shielded me from harm, And I've even heard Him speak When I was afraid, or weak. Yes, my cup is running o'er, Yet I yearn for more and more Of His riches and His grace This year I may see His Face! — Martha Snell Nicholson
