D-011 EASA CS-25 Avionics System (Module 2)
The aim of this course is to introduce the EASA Certification Specifications (CSs) for Avionics Systems, in theory and with a practical approach.
Objectives
• Part-21J (DOA) Office of Airworthiness, Avionics Compliance Verification Engineers, Avionics Design Engineers/Team Leaders, and any personnel involved in the certification of Avionics System installations/modification in large aircraft • Alternate Part-21J (ADOA) applicants who are involved in the design and modification of Avionics Systems and its certification processes and procedures • Part-145 large aircraft inspectors, certifying staff and continued airworthiness managers involved in avionics system maintenance, operation, and instruction for continued airworthiness • Any personnel, consultants, or organizations that are involved in minor/major (STC) modifications and/or repairs in large aeroplanes, specific to avionics systems • Part-CAMO organization managers, post holder maintenance managers, or quality control personnel who are involved in continued airworthiness of the aircraft’s avionics system (ATA chapter 23, 34 & 42) The objective of this course is to to educate and train participants about the key elements to consider in relation to EASA CS-25 for the modification or installation of avionics systems in Large Aircraft, e.g. Flight Management System (FMS). Specifically, upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: • justify and select specific CS-25 requirements to qualify and meet the compliance for avionics system • explain the safety implications and the functional requirements on avionics system to be able to comply with the CS-25 safety objectives • understand the importance of lightning effect, HIRF, EMI, and system testing, to adhere to CS-25 requirements and associated Minimum Obstacle Clearance (MOC)
