PT-001 NiCad Batteries Maintenance
This two-day course covers battery construction and function in general, with detailed explanations of NiCad technology used in aircraft.
Objectives
This course involves the construction and functions of a NiCad battery, including all steps of maintenance, installation, handling, storage, and safety precautions. Special focus is applied to capacity checks and reconditioning (deep-cycling), as these are key elements for a long and trouble-free battery life at minimum cost for the operator. Participants will also be shown methods to achieve maximum results using different materials and equipment already available in the workshop (or yet to be acquired). Upon completing the course, participants will be able to carry out the complete spectrum of maintenance independently.
