Q-001 Management Systems in Aviation (including Safety and Quality Systems) This four-day course provides an overview of Management Systems in Aviation, including quality management and systems, Safety Management Systems (SMS), safety and risk management, and Organization Management Manuals (OMM), using a combination of theoretical and practical teaching.
This course introduces the Commission Regulations, Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC), and Guidance Material (GM) regarding “Organization Requirements Operations”, “Organization Requirements Aircrew”, “Part-CAMO”, and “Part-145”, with a special focus on Management Systems, SMS, Compliance Monitoring Systems, Quality Systems, and their interrelation.
Objectives
Specifically, this course will cover: • Documentation of Management Systems • Standards related to Quality Management • Rulemakers in Aviation
• Safety Managers • Compliance Monitoring Managers/Quality Managers • Accountable Managers, Nominated Persons, and other managing staff from Operators, Training Organizations, Continuing Airworthiness Management Organizations, Maintenance Organizations, National Authorities Participants should contribute to the course with their professional experience as much as possible. They will gain the knowledge to establish, maintain, and further develop their own Management System, SMS, and/or Compliance Monitoring System. • Requirements applicable to Quality Systems, Safety Management Systems, and Management Systems in Aviation • Introduction to Safety and Risk Management • Content of an Organization Management Manual (OMM) • Terminology In addition to the theoretical topics mentioned above, there will also be a focus on using practical approaches to establish tailor-made documentation in compliance with organizational requirements e. g. such as Part-ORO, Part-ORA, Part-CAMO, etc. An example OMM will also be reviewed and discussed, including relevant and helpful tools for its practical implementation.
