MEMB E R COMP ANY P RO F I L E DE VALVES

Founded back in 1974 as JIP Ball Valves, the company DE Valves with the constellation as we know it today and since 2015, carries not only an interesting history, but also a business model or approach deviating from many other suppliers of ball valves for district heating and cooling systems. Despite the company being sold twice during that period, and closed for business, the original factory buildings, which were acquired in 1985, are still the location of DE Valves Glamsbjerg A/S, which was founded when the new and current owners acquired the factory, equipment and product design on June 2nd, 2015. As a result of the factory officially closing in 2014, around 60 employees found themselves without a job, and a few of these started negotiating with the then-owner to buy the factory. DE Valves then saw its early existence with five employees, which has since grown. Collectively, today’s employees who are all former JIP Ball Valves employees, DE Valves today contains more than 200 years of experience within the field. DE Valves, ISO9001:2015 certified since January this year, is a subcontractor supplying fully welded ball valves for pre-insulation specifically designed for district heating and cooling systems – all designed, produced, tested and certified according to EN488:2011. Among their key values are a promise to be flexible, reliable and fast, offering a Danish production with high quality demands and standards alongside. DE Valves additionally aims at being easy to do business with, which corresponds greatly with their approach and increasing demand.

Compared to competitors, DE Valves is a small company, which found its strength in supplying products living up to customers’ specific needs, rather than merely standardized products. That means that the company is good at delivering what customers want with short notice, e.g. regarding customized sizes of stems, which can be advantageous because the predictability of needed stem length can be difficult in the early stages of digging. Therefore, DE Valves’ interesting approach refers to their unique capability of both meeting the specific needs and requirements of customers, and doing it with a speed not matched by any competitor. Another differentiation aspect is their technical solutions and choice of very robust materials, from stems made in acid proof stainless steel (AISI 316L), enhancing the lifetime of the valve in the event of moisture in the soil, to a unique PTFE/ carbon stem packing box, which does not deteriorate like for instance rubber rings.
