The beautiful Mediterranean island of Mallorca – where Spanish artists like Joan Miró, Miquel Barceló and Joan Bennàssar lived or worked – was a treasure trove of inspiration for a young Domingo. His mother was a painter and his father painted cars. Surrounded by ‘paint and fumes’, he explored his heritage and learned about artists including Diego Velázquez and Francisco Goya. By the age of 16, he’d memorised the contents of London’s National Gallery and New York’s Metropolitan Museum. After winning a scholarship to study in London, Domingo graduated with a degree in political science in America and embarked on a

brief stint on Wall Street. The urban style of 1980s New York beckoned, and he picked up his paintbrush once again, embarking on an artistic career that saw him described as ‘the next Andy Warhol’ by The New York Post . Domingo’s projects are as varied as his paintings: alongside joining forces with the Pope and the French street artist Mr. Brainwash, he has exhibited at New York Fashion Week and the Venice Biennale. Public installations include a five-foot stainless steel shark sculpture in the lobby of the United Nations headquarters to raise awareness of ocean pollution, and a record-breaking mural in Times Square.
