Welcome to Segra Park, home of the Columbia Fireflies!

Thank you for choosing to join us at the ballpark for some fun during the 2024 season! We are excited for what promises to be another great season of memories being made at the ballpark. Since 2016 we have welcomed over 1.4 million fans to the ballpark for Fireflies games and over 250,000 guests for other events. Without you, the best fans in all Minor League Baseball, none of this would be possible. We are so grateful for your loyal support of the Columbia Fireflies. The 2022 season was a return to normalcy for us in many ways. We moved into the new normal with a 132-game season and 66 home games. It was also our first season as a member of the Carolina League and our young team continually improved throughout the season and after a tough first half of the season was able to finish in second place of the South Division in the second half. We are excited to see these young Kansas City Royals prospects compete again in 2024! Our “off-season” was full of excitement as well with our second year of Fireflies Holiday Lights. Over one million lights decorated Segra Park for the holiday season and over 20,000 guests joined us to enjoy the show. Fireflies Holiday Lights is an event that we will host annually and will get bigger and better every year. If you didn’t get a chance to join us last year, please stay tuned for tickets to go on sale this fall! No matter what happens on the field, we strive to make sure that every Fireflies game is a great experience from the moment you park your car until you drive away at the end of a great night. We have a fantastic team of full-time staff and gameday employees who are here to serve you while you are spending time with us at the ballpark. Please don’t hesitate to let one of our team members know if there is something that we can do to enhance your experience at the ballpark. In 2024 we have a great lineup of promotions that will add to your enjoyment at Segra Park. Whether it is a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, a Karaoke Theme Night or one of our bobbleheads, we have something for everyone! Be sure to check out our promotional calendar and pick out your favorite games today! Buy Early, Save Money and Have Fun this season!

On behalf of our entire team, we hope that you will have an unforgettable experience at Segra Park. Please come back and visit us again soon for another Fireflies game, Fireflies Holiday Lights or one of the numerous events that are hosted at Segra Park every year. This ballpark was built by the community, for the community, and we can’t wait to welcome you back!

The 2024 season has been one to remember in Columbia. Here’s some of our favorite moments and storylines on the field from this year, so far. Wrapping Up 2024 with a Bang By Patrick DeMarre APRIL Hunter Patteson started the season off with a bang and claimed the first Carolina League Pitcher of the Week Award of 2024, tossing nine innings of scoreless ball across two appearances. The southpaw finished off a 4-1 win against Augusta by retiring all 12 batters he faced out of the bullpen and earned the save. A few days later, the lefty started a game against Myrtle Beach by retiring the first eight hitters he stood against, fanning 20 straight hitters in total. Patteson finished the month of April with a 1.62 ERA in 16.2 innings across four appearances and three starts. He held opposing hitters to a .125 batting average in the season’s opening month. MAY On the first of May, Felix Arronde spun a gem on the mound. In a 2-1 loss against Carolina, the Cuban hurler recorded the lone double-digit strikeout game of the season by a Fireflies starter. Arronde allowed one run on one hit and two walks in six innings of work. The righty had a no-hitter going until he allowed a single in the bottom of the sixth inning. Derlin Figueroa swung a hot bat in the season’s second month. The lefty slugger had the longest hit-streak of the 2024 campaign by a Fireflies player, hitting in 13-straight contests between May 12 and May 26. In that span, Figueroa collected three homers, nine RBI and had a .408 batting average. This was one of the most dominant stretches by a Columbia hitter all season. Austin Charles and Blake Mitchell each had multi-home run games in May, the only multi- homer games by Fireflies hitters in 2024. Charles accomplished the feat in a 4-2 win against Charleston May 17, swatting two solo shots to lead the Fireflies to victory. Mitchell’s double- dinger night occurred May 30 in a 14-5 loss to Kannapolis. The lefty’s two solo homers bookended a 5 HR, 17 RBI statline in May with a .459 slugging percentage. Figueroa, Charles, Mitchell and Erick Pena have all hit 10 or more home runs this season. No other team in the Carolina League has more than two hitters with double-digit homers. Only two other Single-A franchises have four or more hitters with 10+ homers in 2024, the Braedenton Marauders of the Florida State League and the Modesto Nuts of the California League. JUNE As the temperatures across Carolina League ballparks rose in June, the Fireflies became scorching hot on the field. June was the winningest month of the season for Columbia, who went 17-10 in the final full month of the first half. June 6, Hunter Patteson set the team-high in innings pitched in a single outing in 2024. The lefty nearly went the full distance against Fayetteville, going eight strong with five strikeouts and just three hits allowed. Patteson retired the last 18 hitters he faced to help secure a 1-0 win–that stretch is the most-consecutive hitters retired by a Fireflies pitcher in team history. It was his last appearance for Columbia before being promoted to Quad Cities June 10. Emmanuel Reyes picked up where Patteson left off with a different, but also impressive performance against Fayetteville that week. June 9, the righty took the mound against the Woodpeckers and threw just 35 pitches in five scoreless innings. Reyes allowed two hits and struck out two while working extremely efficiently. The young Dominican starter recorded 29 strikes on those 35 pitches and faced 17 hitters in total. Dionmy Salon began the second-longest hit streak by a member of the 2024 Fireflies this month. Columbia’s reserve catcher mixed in 11 appearances over six weeks, recording at least one hit each time he was penciled into the lineup. Hitting in double-digit games consecutively is not easy to begin with, but doing so despite not seeing the field consistently is even more difficult. Salon hit for a .429 average during the 11-game stretch, the highest batting average of any hit streak recorded by a Columbia hitter in 2024. The

The streak eventually came to an end on July 21st. Erick Pena was the real star of June for the Fireflies. The longest tenured hitter on the team earned Carolina League Player of the Week honors for his performance in the series against Myrtle Beach June 10-16. In six games against the Pelicans, the big bopper hit .333 with five extra-base hits (including a homer) and six RBI, while also earning four walks and swiping three bases. Pena kept swinging the bat well upon returning to Segra Park the next week. The Dominican slugger tied the franchise’s all-time home run record, previously held by Dash Winningham, on June 18, 2024 with his 25th long ball in a Fireflies uniform. Pena wasted no time claiming sole possession of the record. The next day, the lefty sent another ball into the bleachers for his 26th career home run as a Columbia Firefly, fully taking the record as his own. Blake Mitchell has also shown a propensity for pop this season. He has slugged 18 round-trippers in 2024, the second-most homers in a single season by a Fireflies hitter. Only Juan Carlos Negret hit more in one year, mashing 23 long balls during 2021’s shortened season. Mitchell’s 18 homers are currently the second-highest among all Single-A hitters this season. JULY In July, the Fireflies showed an ability to come through in the clutch. In a six-game series against the Lynchburg Hillcats, Columbia earned three separate walk-off wins, two of them coming in back-to-back games. July 25, Austin Charles roped a single with the bases loaded to tie the score. On the play, Blake Mitchell advanced to third and forced a throwing error that allowed him to move forward an extra 90 feet to score the game’s winning run. A day later, the Fireflies walked it off again. This time, Erick Torres delivered the fatal blow with a game-winning double in the 11th inning. The win sealed Columbia’s first instance of back-to-back walk-off wins since August 24 and 25, 2022 vs Salem. The Fireflies walked-off Lynchburg again July 28 for their third walk-off win in four days. With a tie game in the bottom of the tenth, Brennan McNair laced a single to score Derlin Figueroa, sealing the win and the series victory against the Hillcats. Columbia also had two walk-off wins before July…a 6-5 win against Myrtle Beach in April thanks to a wild pitch that allowed Erick Torres to score, and a 5-4 win in 11 innings against Salem on May 10, made possible by a two-run sacrifice fly from Austin Charles. The sacrifice fly completed a three-run comeback in extra innings. The Fireflies added another walk-off winner in August, where Erick Torres scored the winning run on a wild pitch, again. This time to solidify a 2-1 victory against Kannapolis. AUGUST If hitting and a flare for the dramatic were the main themes of July, pitching was the biggest factor in August for the Columbia Fireflies. Columbia’s pitching staff threw shutouts on four separate occasions in August against four different teams. Fireflies hurlers recorded eight shutouts in total in 2024. One in July, one in June and two in April. Jonatan Bernal won Carolina League Pitcher of the Week for the second time in his Fireflies career. The righty dominated in his lone start the week of August 12-18, spinning seven scoreless innings in a 9-0 win against Myrtle Beach. Bernal allowed two hits, two walks and struck out six in a stellar outing. The bullpen was also stupendous in August, but the bullpen has been a key cog in Columbia’s winning recipe all season. Columbia relievers have combined for a 3.02 ERA in 524 innings pitched through August 31, the second-lowest bullpen ERA in all of the Minor Leagues. In 2024, the Fireflies’ pen sports a record of 44-21 with 34 saves and a 39-6 record when leading after six innings. Elvis Novas, Ismael Michel and Jarold Rosado all hold sub- 2.00 ERAs as relievers. Doug Kirkland and Josh Hansell both have sub-3.00 ERAs. The 2023 campaign was the franchise’s first winning season since its 2016 arrival in Columbia and featured a record of 66-65. Columbia could accomplish consecutive winning seasons for the first time and its winningest season in Columbia in one year in 2024.
