College – Issue 35

FOR THE BOYS, FOR OUR FUTURE Campaign events – sharing the future with parents

The For the boys, For our future fundraising campaign has lifted to a new level as parents have been engaged through a series of events in the College Board Room with Executive Principal Garth Wynne.

The events have been created on a “House invitation basis”, with all parents receiving the opportunity to hear Garth talk about College’s aspirational vision. The College Board has announced that if the full College community can raise $7.5m, then they will “press the start button” to build the new Sporting Excellence Health & Wellbeing Centre, a project that will take around 18 months to complete.

The size of the challenge is acknowledged by the school. We are aware the parent community is already very committed to College through enrolling their boys here, yet at the same time, there are some parents who have very generously donated over and above their fee levels. In making a gift, many have indicated they acknowledge the importance and value of this new facility. It will provide for all future College boys, and will be shared with the wider community.

The events, with their personalised and informal format have been positively received. All parent attendees have been given the opportunity to speak candidly and openly on the strategic direction and College’s future. Garth has shared the vision, what will change, and why it is needed. The new centre will be an invaluable facility as the school strives in every way to deliver Each boy at his best .
