2025 ANNUAL REPORT
SG United Chamber Of Commerce
Looking Forward
Looking Back
2025 came and went with a fury and I am continually surprised at how quickly time is passing. My motto when I started my year as the Chamber President was to do things “With Purpose”. I believe we focused on what the Chamber was doing, why we were doing it, how did it affect our members and how will what we were doing strengthen our communities. As we move into 2026, I’ll leave you with the phrase, “Stronger Together”. We have a dedicated staff who were instrumental in adding 14 new businesses to the Chamber Directory, but we also had some businesses leave, whether due to financial issues or questioning the benefits of being part of the Scottsbluff/Gering Chamber. Our staff promoted and participated in Chamber Ambassadors, which celebrated new and existing businesses and coordinated business
The Scottsbluff/Gering region has a long tradition of great businesses, a welcoming hand, and a spirit to roll up our sleeves to make a better tomorrow. As the new board president for the Scottsbluff/Gering United Chamber of Commerce, I intend to work to make sure the chamber continues to play a key role in maintaining and growing these wonderful traditions. Looking forward, I see continued opportunities to celebrate our new and existing businesses, as well as the people that make our local economy go. There is never a bad time to celebrate our local businesses!

after-hour events for networking and business recognition, and they assisted Leadership Scottsbluff and the NEXT Young Professionals with clerical and other issues, including organization of a trip to Lincoln. Our staff worked with Agri-Business, Government Affairs and Workforce Readiness groups. I so appreciated the revamped State of the Valley Luncheon and would encourage this format to continue for years to come. Visits from Governor Pillen and Senator Hardin were also scheduled. None of these committees or groups would work without the dedication of active members and I applaud your continued service to provide these opportunities for recognition and education in our community. We continued to be “Stronger Together”. While I believe our Board of Directors wanted to make 2025 a strong year for growth and purpose, work and life seemed to get in the way, and we struggled to have full board engagement. I so appreciated the support of those who were able to attend meetings and participate in community events when they could, and I am encouraged by the group of new Board Members who will have the opportunity to bring new ideas for growth and engagement and assist Doug Mader as he takes over as Chamber Board Chair. Like non- profit organizations do with volunteer boards, we overcame and adapted the best we could. Communication continues to be the lifeblood of any organization, whether in written or verbal form and I ask each of you to let the Chamber Board and staff know what you perceive as the Chambers successes and areas for improvement. Hearing from those who we work alongside promotes ways for us to continue to improve and promote the Chamber. As my term expires, I am grateful for the experience you entrusted with me, working and meeting new people and learning more about business in our area. Scottsbluff and Gering have much to be proud of as we enter 2026.
I also see a need to revitalize the work the chamber does. As with most communities like ours, the pool of leaders and volunteers is the very lifeblood of our community and our success. The chamber board is bringing in new members with great energy and experience, and I want to see that we do the same with every committee the chamber oversees. We’re fortunate to have talented committees already, but it’s time to plan for the future. Lastly, I see the chamber, your chamber, even stronger one year from now than it is today; positioned to serve to our members as they grow their businesses and our community.
