This KPI refers to the total amount (in EUR) of premium payments made by Mission Allies to partner cooperatives via Tony’s Open Chain on top of the farmgate price: 3.2 a This cocoa season: Tony’s Open Chain: Tony’s Open Chain: The total amount of premium payments paid per metric ton of cocoa by Mission Allies (including Tony’s Chocolonely) on top of the farmgate price to cocoa farmers for 1) Ghana and 2) Cote d’Ivoire in the reporting season. 3.2 b Cumulatively since the start of Tony’s Open Chain: The total amount of all premium payments made by Mission Allies (including Tony’s Chocolonely) on top of the farmgate price to cocoa farmers since the start of Tony’s Open Chain (2019/20 cocoa season onwards). This KPI is calculated by multiplying the total volume of cocoa sourced (in metric tons) by the value paid (in EUR) per premium, based on figures reported in Tony’s Chocolonely’s Annual Fair Reports and Tony’s Open Chain Impact Reports (2019/20 –2024/25). Different premiums were paid in different seasons, including the Fairtrade premium, Tony’s Open Chain living income premium and Emergency Productivity Boost. Note that the data underlying this KPI has only been in scope for assurance by PwC since 2023: Tony’s Open Chain data prior to 2022/23 has therefore not been subjected to limited assurance. 3.2 c This cocoa season: Tony’s Chocolonely: The total amount of premium payments paid per metric ton of cocoa by Tony’s Chocolonely for 1) Ghana and 2) Côte d’Ivoire in the reporting season. 3.2 d Cumulatively: Tony’s Chocolonely: Tony’s Chocolonely: The total amount of all premium payments made by Tony’s Chocolonely from 2010 through to the latest reporting season. This KPI is calculated by multiplying the total volume of cocoa sourced (in metric tons) by the value paid (in EUR) per premium, based on figures reported in Tony’s Chocolonely’s Annual Fair Reports. Note that the data underlying this KPI has only been in scope for assurance by PwC since 2019/20: KPI data prior to 2019/20 has therefore not been subjected to limited assurance. Premiums paid between 2005-2009 are currently not included in the KPI. This KPI provides a breakdown of all premium types paid by Tony’s Open Chain Mission Allies to farmers via partner cooperatives, both in cash and in kind, that have a direct effect on farmer incomes (i.e. providing additional income and/or direct savings, for example, via subsidised labour brigades) in the reporting season. KPI 3.3a provides a breakdown of all premium types paid, including the amount per premium type, per metric ton/per country, and the total premiums paid per metric ton/country.
