Tony's Open Chain Impact Report 2024/25

My name is Aïcha Situonon Gboritcha, and I work as a Community Facilitator at ECOJAD. My day typically starts early in the morning. When I see that everyone at home is doing well, I thank God. Then I get ready, prepare my little daughter, and leave her with my sister.

I take the road to one of the localities, and we start working through the interviews I conduct with the farmer and his or her household members. The aim is to identify whether there are cases of child labour occurring in the household or not, and if so, what the reasons for that are, so that we can propose the remediation actions that we think will be most effective. The

roads are degraded, which causes serious problems for our work vehicles, especially the motorcycles. There are also issues related to security. We sometimes travel on isolated roads and can face attacks. A few years ago, a colleague was killed because a hijacker wanted to steal his motorcycle. We face many problems, but that’s the job.
