It takes a village: tackling child labour through enabling environments

Insights from our work on child labour over the past years have highlighted the importance of building an enabling environment – one that includes access to schools, WASH infrastructure, and healthcare – as essential to addressing the root causes of child labour. For example, ASUNAFO, which entered a five-year partnership with Tony’s Open Chain in the 2020/21 cocoa season, implemented a range of community development projects between 2021 and 2025.
