Preventive care is one of the most effective ways to support heart health and overall wellbeing. Completing your annual wellness exam provides an opportunity to identify potential health concerns early, track important health metrics, and have proactive conversations with your provider about risk factors and next steps. In addition, employees can earn $125 through Optum Engage for completing an annual physical. If you haven’t scheduled your exam yet, now is a great time to take this simple step to support your health and take advantage of the incentive. These routine measures can help identify potential health risks early—often before symptoms appear. Cholesterol What it is: Fatty substances in your blood Why it matters: High cholesterol can build up in arteries and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke Healthy Range: Varies by individual—talk with your provider about your target numbers Blood Pressure What it is: The force of blood against your arteries Why it matters: High blood pressure strains the heart and increases the risk of heart attack and stroke Healthy Range: Less than 120/80 mm Hg
