Candidate statements filed during the candidate filing extension period are available for public examination. During this period, any voter of the jurisdiction in which the election is being held, or the elections official, himself or herself, may seek a writ of mandate or an injunction requiring the material in the statements to be amended or deleted.

The Secretary of State shall conduct a drawing of letters of the alphabet to determine the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot.
