Designed for students taking private voice lessons who have a deficient sense of pitch to the extent that they are unable to handle vocal exercises of the typical college performing level. One hour a week. 100. APPLIED MUSIC-Freshman Level. (1-2) Private instruction is offered to music and non-music majors on the following instruments: Piano I, II, III, IV, V, organ, voice, brass instruments, string instruments, woodwind in­ struments, accordion*, and hymn playing*.

Principles of pronunciation and enunciation of English, Italian, ecclesiastical Latin, French, German, and Spanish texts. Use of the International Phonetic Alphabet. *181. ORGAN CLASS. (1) For the student with no previous organ training. Includes basic keyboard and pedal technique, pipe organ construction, and repertory. Prerequisite: ability to play hymns on the piano. Limited to 3-8 students. *191, 192. PIANO CLASS I & II. (1, 1) For the student with no previous piano training who desires to study applied music. Limited to 6-10 students. *193, 194. VOICE CLASS I & II. (1, 1) For the student with no previous voice training who desires to study applied music. Limited to 6-10 students. 200. APPLIED MUSIC-Sophomore Level.
