Designed for the BS degree Biology major and the AB Psychology major whose emphasis is Physiological Psychology. Conducted jointly by the staff of the Science Division and the Department of Psychology. Fee: $15. Designed primarily for the non-science major as well as nurs ing students and presenting the principles, applications, and methods of chemistry. May be taken for credit in physical science. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory and demonstra tion. Laboratory fee: $15. Important theories and principles of chemistry and some of the more important elements and compounds. The labora tory work mostly quantitative in nature. Three hours lecture, six hours laboratory. Prerequisite: High School chemistry, chemistry 103, or per Principles of qualitative analysis including ionization, oxi dation, reduction, separation, and analysis of elements. Two hours lecture, six hours laboratory. Prerequisite: Chemistry 105, 106. Laboratory fee: $15. Principles of quantitative analysis including calculation and laboratory technique in gravimetric and columetric analysis. Two hours lecture, six hours laboratory. Prerequisite: Chemistry 105, 106 or permission of instructor. Laboratory fee: $15. Important groups of carbon compounds including the alipha tic and aromatic series of organic compounds. Typical re action and methods of preparation of important organic compounds; fundamental theories of organic chemistry. Three hours lecture, six hours laboratory. Prerequisite: Chemestry 105, 106.
