Basic principles of the physical sciences; physics, chemistry, geology, and astronomy. Provides a knowledge of how the physical sciences contribute to an understanding of the physi­ cal environment. A survey of the basic principles of classical and modern physics. Designed primarily for the non-science major; may be taken for credit in physical science. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory and demonstra­ tion. Laboratory fee: $10. Prerequisite: Credit in a college math course or permission of instructor.

First semester, the basic principles of mechanics, wave mo­ tion, and heat. Second semester, light, electricity, magne­ tism, and atomic structure. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory, Laboratory fee: $10. Prerequisite: Credit in any one of the following: Math 103, 104, 111, 121, or permission of instructor.

An introductory course in astronomy including; the earth­ moon system and the planets, stars and stellar systems, nebulae, galaxies, telescopes and their accessories. NURSING The Nursing Program at Biola College is a basic, baccalaureate program of five academic or calendar years in length, leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in the major of Nursing, and quali­ fies the graduate to write the California State Board examinations to obtain the licensure R.N. The entire program is conducted on the campus (all the ad­ vantages of coeducational life) with clinical courses given under the instruction of the college nursing faculty in approximately eight hospitals, public health centers, and schools. The program has been accredited by the Board of Nursing Education and Nurse Registration of the State of California.
