McCann Red Angus - 6th Annual Red Angus Bull Sale [2/26/26]

WELCOME to our 6th annual Red Angus Bull Sale. It’s been such a pleasure and enjoyment for our family to get to know so many wonderful people involved with the Red Angus breed!

As you know, our sale moved last year from Billings to the Roundup Grounds, here in Lewiston, Idaho. Bulls will be at the grounds for you to view on the 25th of February, and of course, the sale will begin at 1:00 p.m. on the 26th. We are proud of this pen of bulls, as they are second to none. They cover a wide diversity from yearlings, easy calvers, to age advantaged bulls, that we know, without question, will help grow your bottom line. This offering gives you many choices when it comes to your needs for your herd. In November we had our first female sale, which worked out well for everyone. We sold heifers, some cows with calves at their side, along with some bred cows. In addition, we offered straws of semen and embryos. The sale was a success, and we delivered females throughout the West. All four of our kids are doing well. Mindy is still with social services in the state of Oregon, Bill is the com- puter programmer, Aaron is in commercial sales, and Jason, of course, runs the cattle. Our 11 grandchildren range in age from 33 to almost 4 and continue to bring Lori and I extreme joy. This is Lori’s 5th year in the Idaho House of Representatives, and she recently announced her run for the Idaho Senate in the May primary. It’s a challenge for our family with her being gone while we prepare for the bull sale, but it’s something she truly enjoys, and we know she is making a great impact on the state of Idaho. Special thanks to Jason for all he does with our bulls, along with the entire herd. He is the guy that selects what we feed the bulls, how we take care of them, and what sires he desires to pair with our cows. The rest of us just show up to help work them, haul hay, and move cattle. We hope you will take a moment during the sale to meet Barrett, who has been with us since December 2024. He does an excellent job with the cattle and has helped Jason get the bulls to where they are today. As you can see, these bulls have developed well for us this year. Jason spent time visiting with a nutritionist and we’ve come with a new ration this year of hay, haylage, corn, and minerals, all of which has contributed to the outstanding growth we have seen in these bulls. As you know, McCann Red Angus bulls are built for all conditions, climates and topography from hills to plains. These guys are not pampered and kept in a small pen. They are muscled up and ready to get to work as soon as they are sold and delivered to you. We are truly excited about this pen of bulls and for your opportunity to add a few to your operation. On behalf of our family, Lori and I want to welcome you to this, our 6th Annual Sale. We hope you will join us on Wednesday, the 25th, for a prime rib dinner, and of course, lunch on the 26th, prior to the sale begin- ning at 1 p.m. We look forward to seeing you in February.
