The ASB council plans a recreational program which includes outings, picnics, and sponsored trips to places of interest in the Los Angeles area. The niens athletic director and the women’s athletic director are elected officers ot the student body. These directors, with the counsel of the school’s recreational director, plan and arrange for the recreational trips to city playgrounds and for the competitive sports: men’s basketball, football, and baseball; and women’s basketball and sottbail. bach spring there is a student-organized tennis tournament. . The Student Body meetings are held each Friday morning and combine the business session with student-led devotions. Twice each year, fall and spring, the Student Body arranges for an evening of Open House at which time the friends of the school and especially prospective students are invited to tour the buildings and become acquainted with the details of school life. All departments of the school are open for visitors, and the evening is given over to an all-student program. ®0(ty, sponsors two student publications: a bi-weekly newspaper, the and a yearbook, the BIOLAN. These serve to keep a record of school life, to interest young people in the College as a place of healthy activity, and to inform the friends of the school of items of current interest. KING'S DAUGHTERS AND BIOLA MEN t The women of the school are bound together in spiritual fellowship as daughters ot the King The K ings Daughters, women’s organization, exists for the purpose of promoting fellowship and friendship. To this end they plan various means of getting acquainted, and conduct women’s devotions one evening each week and one moraine bi-weekly. & I ,The corresponding organization for the men of the school is known as Biola Men f heir program is similar to that of the King’s Daughters. ATHLETICS The purpose of athletics at the Bible College is to provide a recreational program which combines wholesome exercise with Christian sportsmanship. The Bible College is a member of the Southern California Christian College Conference which plans mterscholastic competition in men’s touch-football, basketball, softball, and track- and women s basketball and softball. The Recreational Director and the Men’s and Women’s Athletic Chairman (elected Student Body officers) are members of the Conference Council. Intramural touch-football, basketball, softball, tennis, and women’s volleyball are under the direction of the Men’s and Women’s Athletic Chairmen working in con­ junction with the Recreational Director. All students under twenty-five years of age, with the exception of married students and those who regularly spend week ends at home, are required to have two hours of outdoor recreation each week. This may be obtained through any of the organized sports or by group attendance at one of the many city playgrounds RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS All students must live in the college dormitory during the course of their train- mg, with certain possible exceptions as follows: 9 The privilege of outside residence is granted to married students.
