'iv iSiona • • • racin izci tion The Departments of the College are organized tinder six divisions as follows: I. BIBLICAL STUDIES AND PHILOSOPHY. This includes the Departments of Doctrine, English Bible, Missions, New Testament Greek, and Philosophy. II. EDUCATION. This includes the Departments of Art, Christian Education, Education, Library Science, Psychology, and Science. III. MODERN LANGUAGES. This includes the Departments of English, Spanish, and Speech. IV. SOCIAL SCIENCE. This includes Anthropology, History, and Sociology. V. MUSIC. Courses numbered 100-199 are for Freshmen, 200-299 for Sophomores, 300-399 for Juniors, and 400-499 for Seniors. When a student’s background is acceptable and special permission has been ob­ tained, a Sophomore may enroll in a “300” course, and a Junior in a “400” course. Courses with hyphenated numbers extend through the year, and do not carry credit for either semester separately. Courses having numbers separated by a comma may be elected separately for credit. In general, odd numbered courses are given the first semester, and even, the second semester. Courses ending in zero are given either semester. The units of credit are indicated by the number in parenthesis after each course title. Biola Bible College reserves the right to withdraw any courses for which there is insufficient registration.

THE DEPARTMENT OF DOCTRINE

The endeavor of the Department of Doctrine is to present that system of doctrine which is contained in the Scriptures, and to orient it with other efforts in Church History and with contemporary theological thought. It seeks to ground the student in the knowledge of God and Christianity exegetically, historically, and philosophically. 301. DOCTRINE I. (2) The doctrines of the existence, nature, and attributes of God, and of the inspiration of the Scriptures as God’s revelation to man, traced from the Bible itself. 302. DOCTRINE II. (2) The Person of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Person and work of the Holy Spirit 401. DOCTRINE III. (2) The creation, nature, and fall of man, the nature and destiny of angels, the devil, and demons. 402. DOCTRINE IV. (2) The Biblical plan of salvation and redemption, and the Biblical teaching concern­ ing future events.
