Student Aid As funds are ava ilable, the College awards grants-in-aid to needy students from the Student Aid Fund. This fund is ma intained by gifts from friends of the College. Students are not required to r epay the College but are expected to per petuate t he fund by t heir own contribu t ions when t hey have completed school. This will provide funds for others who are in need. RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS All students who are no t married or living with their parents a r e r equired to live in t he r esidence hall s. Any exception must be approved by the Dean of · Students Office prior to r egistration. THE RESIDENCE HALLS Rooms are equipped with individual study desks, single beds, and individual ward robe closets and chests of drawers. Each fl oor has baths, shower rooms, and laundry rooms equipped with met er ed washing machines and dri ers. While a few s ingle rooms a r e ava ilable in t he women's dormitory, most are for two students. St udents are expect ed to supply their blankets, bedspreads, and electri c irons; however , neither irons nor any cooking equipment may be used in students ' rooms. E ach dormi tory unit is in charge of a qualified house parent. The administration r eserves the right to inspect rooms at any time. HOUSING FOR MARRIED STUDENTS Although Biola College does not have on-campus housing facilities for married students, apartments are rather eas ily obta ined within the area. A number of ma rri ed students live either in La Mirada or some of the immed iately su rround ing communit ies, such as Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, Norwalk, and Whit ti er. The Dean of Students Office main tains a fil e on available housing. Biola College attempts to help marri ed students coming into the area by providing a loan service on used furniture inasmuch as most apartments a r e unfurnished. There is no charge for this servi ce, but students who borrow furniture must assume the r esponsibility for movin g it from s torage and r eturning it in as good a condition as when it wa s r eceived. A trailer for moving furniture within the local area only is available from the college for a nominal fee . DISCIPLINE Biola College is dedicated to the training of young people who ar e si ncere and earnest in their desire to live for J esus Christ. Because this is true, students are expected to give evidence of conduct consistent with such a profession.
