CHRISTIAN SERVICE One of the distinguishing features of Biola College, consistently woven into its iife, is its emphasis on Christian Service. This distinction has born fruit in the lives of its graduates providing them with an advantage of practical experience through a program of in-service training and Christian character development. Through personal inter views and counseling se rvices established within the Christian Service Department, students are given opportunity to apply the truths and principles taught in their classes . At present students serve in ap proximately 300 churches in Southern California. Other opportunities are pro vided in gospel teams, church musi c. yout h directorships, Juvenile Hall, hospitals, street meet ings, released time classes, and child evangelism classes, et cetera . While enrolled at Biola the student is g iven the privilege of expressing his preferences in Christian Service; and, together with the full-time director of th e department and his assistants, he is encouraged to accept the opportunity of service which best suits his desires and his abilities. Each student in Biola College is expected to devote a minimum of three hours and a maximum of six hours each wee k in his assignect area of work for which he receives one unit of non-academic credit each semester.
